Qigong

Qigong  is a  practice of aligning body, breath and mind for health, meditation and martial arts training. The origins come from Chinese medicine, philosophy and martial arts as Qigong is thought of as a practice to cultivate and balance Qi (Chi) meaning life energy. Like Yoga which also goes back 5000 years, Qi Gong is great for all round health, wellness, stress management and energy.

 

The word Qigong  is made up of two Chinese words. Qi is pronounced chee and is usually translated to mean the life force or vital-energy that flows through all things in the universe. The second word, Gong, pronounced gung, means accomplishment, or skill that is cultivated through steady practice. Together, Qigong means cultivating energy, it is a system practiced for health maintenance, healing and increasing vitality.


Besides being taught in a personal training session, Qi Gong can be taught in a two person, small or large group setting. Qi Gong can also be combined with Yoga for a very powerful class.
